Supporting Organizational Capabilities — Organizational Consulting Services

Alongside Lightstone’s flagship organizational consulting services, additional capabilities can be integrated where they strengthen a broader consulting, advisory, or organizational development engagement.

Human-Centred Organizational Change

Supporting organizations through change by examining how new structures, systems, expectations, and ways of working affect the people expected to implement and sustain them. Work may include change readiness, stakeholder impact, communication, implementation planning, and leadership support.

Examining the conditions that influence why people join, stay, disengage, or leave. This may include employee experience, engagement, retention pressures, organizational culture, leadership, career development, transition, and workforce initiatives.

Helping organizations design, review, or improve programs, services, policies, and client or employee pathways so they are practical, evidence-informed, responsive to user needs, and aligned with organizational objectives.

Supporting evidence-informed approaches to attracting, selecting, developing, transitioning, and retaining people, including competency development, role requirements, workforce planning, and the interpretation of transferable experience.

Designing and facilitating consultations, working sessions, stakeholder engagement, partnership discussions, and collaborative planning processes that help organizations understand different perspectives and move complex work forward.

Developing practical approaches to outcomes, performance measurement, program evaluation, evidence review, implementation monitoring, and continuous improvement so organizations can understand what is working and refine what is not.

Why Organizations Work With Lightstone

Lightstone combines psychology-informed analysis with practical experience in complex organizations. The emphasis is not on generic best practices, but on understanding how people, systems, culture, and operating conditions interact — and translating that understanding into practical action.

Psychology-Informed Organizational Work

Lightstone draws on organizational psychology, behavioural science, leadership, assessment, and human performance to understand how people think, relate, decide, adapt, and perform within organizational systems.

Military & Veteran Systems Expertise

Sixteen years of Canadian Armed Forces service and national-level work in military-to-civilian transition bring firsthand understanding of military culture, leadership, transition, workforce integration, and the broader Military, Veteran & Family ecosystem.

Christian Leadership & Faith Integration

For organizations that want faith to be part of the work, Lightstone can thoughtfully integrate Christian perspectives on leadership, vocation, service, ethics, relationships, and organizational culture alongside evidence-informed practice.

From Strategy to Implementation

Lightstone works beyond diagnosis and recommendations. Depending on the engagement, the work may include assessment, strategy, facilitation, coaching, training, implementation, measurement, and refinement alongside the organization.

A Practical, Collaborative Process

Each engagement is shaped by the organization’s context, people, goals, and operating environment. The specific methods vary with the nature and scope of the work, but Lightstone generally moves through four connected stages — combining evidence, organizational context, and the experiences of the people involved to understand what is happening and determine what will be most useful.

1

Understand

Clarify the challenge, organizational context, stakeholders, objectives, constraints, and what meaningful improvement would look like.

2

Assess

Gather and integrate relevant information through methods such as interviews, surveys, organizational data, document review, stakeholder input, or structured assessment where appropriate.

3

Design & Implement

Translate the findings into practical action through recommendations, leadership or team development, coaching, training, facilitated work, process changes, or implementation support tailored to the organization.

4

Evaluate & Refine

Examine progress and outcomes, identify what is changing or remaining stuck, and refine the approach to support meaningful and sustainable improvement.

Planning an Organizational Engagement

A few practical details can help you understand how organizational work begins, how scope and investment are determined, and what is confirmed before an engagement moves forward.

Discovery Conversation

Brief initial scoping conversation

Most organizational engagements begin with a brief conversation to understand the challenge, desired outcomes, stakeholders, timing, budget or procurement context where relevant, and whether Lightstone is the right fit. This initial discussion is intended to clarify scope rather than provide substantive consulting advice.

Scope & Investment

Organizational services may use fixed fees, starting investments, or custom proposal-based pricing depending on the nature and complexity of the work. Scope may include objectives, methods, deliverables, timelines, client responsibilities, travel, assessment tools, licensing costs, or customization requirements where relevant.

Written Proposal & Engagement

Before work begins, Lightstone confirms the objectives, approach, deliverables, timeline, responsibilities, investment, payment arrangements, and key terms in writing. Work begins once the proposal or service agreement is accepted and any required purchase order, initial payment, or institutional authorization is in place.

Need substantive advice rather than a discovery conversation? Strategic advisory sessions are available as paid professional consultations where focused guidance or recommendations are required.

These organizational consulting services can be tailored to the scope, complexity, and objectives of each engagement.

Applicable HST is additional. Travel, premium assessment tools or licensing costs, exceptional customization, translation or bilingual materials, and materially expanded scope may be quoted separately where required and will be identified before the engagement begins.

Ready to Discuss Your Organization’s Needs?

Every organizational engagement begins with understanding the challenge, the context, and what meaningful progress would look like. Start with a discovery conversation to explore fit, clarify the need, and determine the most appropriate next step.
